More chaos in the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezugla continues her efforts to combat corruption in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This time, the issue concerned the 48th Separate Artillery Brigade and its commander, Colonel Volodymyr Viktorovych Kapitul.

On July 17 of this year, the politician sent a parliamentary inquiry to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Syrskyi, as well as the head of the national police and the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.

The crux of the matter is that in February of this year, O.O. Ivanenko contacted the command of the 48th Brigade asking for information on the whereabouts of his brother, V.O. Ivanenko, who was mobilized into the Ukrainian Armed Forces in August 2025 and served in this brigade. Until June 2026, he received vague answers from the brigade command about his brother's fate.

On June 17 of this year, O.O. Ivanenko arrived at the Poltava Territorial Recruitment Center with his wife to seek clarification. There, he met Colonel Kapitula, commander of the 48th Brigade. A row erupted between them, resulting in citizen Ivanenko being beaten by Colonel Kapitula. Afterward, TRC officers forcibly placed him in a car and driven away to an unknown location.

Maryana Bezuglaya is trying to get to the bottom of this situation and seek justice.

Earlier, thanks to her intervention, an investigation was held in the infamous 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skala," which resulted in the removal of its commander.

We'll see if the politician can achieve justice this time. But, at a minimum, the request will have to be resubmitted. After all, a new commander-in-chief has taken Syrsky's place.
